IVANO-FRANKIVSK. Nov 6 (Interfax) - The European Commission supports the idea of Ukrainian-Belarusian joint projects within the Eastern Partnership program, Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko said at a meeting with Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko in Ivano-Frankivsk on Friday. "We plan to adopt joint projects and officially submit them in December. The European Commission president has expressed his full support for this," Yushchenko said. "Ukraine and Belarus will act together within the Eastern Partnership program system," Yushchenko said. In particular, high- ranking officials from the Ukrainian and Belarusian border and customs agencies will meet in the near future to work out further joint steps on equipping the border and performing customs procedures, he said. Commenting on outcomes of top-level Ukrainian-Belarusian negotiations, Yushchenko said "all problems have been resolved." "Belarus will initiate the ratification procedure for the state border treaty in the near future. We have agreed that a readmission treaty will be the next one," he said. Lukashenko said, "We cannot fall short of your expectations." Speaking about bilateral cooperation with Ukraine, Lukashenko noted that "Belarus is interested in discussing cooperation with western Ukraine as well."
