Emerson set to modernize four units at India's Tanda thermal power station
Emerson Process Management has been selected by NTPC to modernize obsolete controls at the Tanda Thermal Power Station, a 4 x 110 MW plant located in Uttar Pradesh, India.

China's largest gas-fired thermal power plant in operation in Beijing
The newly-built China's largest gas- fired thermal power plant is in operation in Beijing to directly service Olympic facilities in the capital, Beijing Daily reported.

AREVA T&D to upgrade France-UK interconnection

NYPA halts 680 MW IGCC plant
The New York Power Authority is halting plans for a clean-coal facility at the Huntley plant in western New York. NYPA officials say the electricity produced by the plant would be too expensive because of the integrated gasification combines cycle (IGCC) technology involved.

Siemens to expand Colombo's distribution network
Siemens Energy will modernize and expand the medium-voltage distribution network of Sri Lanka's capital Colombo on behalf of the power supply utility, Ceylon Electricity Board.

Indian power engineering firm Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has secured a repeat EPC contract for a 600 MW thermal power generating unit in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

SunPower to construct two solar PV projects
SunPower Corp. said that it was selected by Florida Power & Light Co. to build a 25 MW power plant in DeSoto County, Fla. and a 10 MW project at the Kennedy Space Center.
