Braintree to break ground for 116 MW gas-fired plant
Braintree Electric Light Department is set to start work on a $110 million power plant at its Potter Road headquarters in Massachusetts.

Tenaska to sell 665 MW gas-fired plant
Tenaska Capital Management LLC announced the sale of Holland Energy, a 665 MW generating station in Illinois, to Indiana electric cooperatives Wabash Valley Power and Hoosier Energy.

Renegy to acquire idle 18 MW biomass facility
Renegy Holdings Inc. said it signed a non-binding letter of intent to purchase an idle 18 MW biomass power plant in California.

Dominion to develop 300 MW wind farm
Dominion said it plans to develop a 300 MW wind generation facility in central Illinois. Prairie Fork Wind Farm would feature 150 to 200 turbines.

Petrom to build CC power plant in Romania
Romanian oil and gas producer Petrom has signed a contract with a consortium formed by General Electric and Metka of Greece, for the construction of a power plant at Brazi, Romania.

TVA agreed to purchase a three-unit, 810 MW combined-cycle combustion turbine facility owned by Southaven Power LLC located in Southaven, Miss.
