European Union (EU) lawmakers have backed a plan to split energy giants from their electricity networks, putting them on a collision course with EU member states.

BroadStar breakthrough with new generation turbine
A novel wind turbine design has been unveiled by BroadStar Wind Systems. The turbine, known as the AeroCam, is aimed at commercial applications. The machine will be available in 10, 250 and 500 kW designs and BroadStar says its 250 kW machine costs $250,000, the first to break through the $1/Watt cost barrier.

Seminole Electric Cooperative said it received approval from Florida's Fifth District Court of Appeal to build a 750 MW clean coal generating plant in Florida.
