UniStar and Accenture to offer nuclear power IT platform
UniStar Nuclear Energy said it is partnering with Accenture to develop an information technology platform capable of supporting the data needs of a potential new fleet of nuclear power plants.

Progress Florida OKs long-lead item buy for nuclear power plants
Progress Energy Florida said it signed a letter of intent with Westinghouse Electric Co. and The Shaw Group Inc.'s Power Group authorizing the purchase of long-lead-time materials for up to two Westinghouse AP1000 reactors in Florida.

Australia's Babcock & Brown to sell European wind farms
Babcock & Brown, the Australian infrastructure investor, is planning to sell its European wind farms in a deal that could be worth between €3.5bn ($5.5bn) and €4bn, according to the Financial Times.

Application filed for South Carolina nuclear power plant
South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. and Santee Cooper submitted an application with the Nuclear Regulatory Commission for a combined construction and operating license (COL), which, once approved, would authorize the companies to build and operate up to two new nuclear electric generating units at the utilities' existing V.C. Summer Nuclear Station.
