Colstrip owners sign long-term coal supply deal
PPL Montana and Puget Sound Energy have signed a long-term agreement with Western Energy Company, a unit of Westmoreland Coal Company, for coal supply from the Rosebud Mine near Colstrip Units 1 and 2.

BP Solar expands fuel cell manufacturing at Madrid plant
BP Solar has announced that it has begun constructing a mega cell plant at its European headquarters in Tres Cantos, Madrid that will raise capacity to 300 MW.

Foster Wheeler awarded $110mn PC contract
Foster Wheeler Ltd. has been awarded a $110 million contract by City Utilities of Springfield, MO, to design and supply a 300 MWe natural circulation pulverized-coal (PC) steam generator at the utility's Southwest power station.

Duke coal plant cost $1.53bn
Duke Energy estimates it would cost $1.53 billion to build a single 800 MW supercritical pulverized coal coal-fired power unit at its Cliffside power plant site in western North Carolina.
