RWE and RAO UES to increase efficiency of TGC-4 power plants
German utility RWE and the Energy Carbon Fund of Russian energy player RAO UES have agreed to develop a project that is aimed at increasing the energy efficiency of the Territorial Generation Company-4 (TGC-4) power plants.

Philippines plans new hydro plant
Philippine National Oil Company (PNOC) has announced plans to build another hydroelectric power plant in Mindanao at a cost of about $250m to help prevent a looming energy crisis in the country's second-biggest island.

Dignitaries break ground on 8.22-MW photovoltaic solar plant
An 82-acre tract in south central Colorado will be the site for one of the largest photovoltaic power plants in the United States. The plant is financed and will be built and maintained by SunEdison and Xcel Energy will buy the solar power.

Black Hills Corp. announces new power plant project
Black Hills Corp. announced the signing of a power purchase agreement to provide electric power to Public Service Company of New Mexico. Under the terms of the agreement, Black Hills will supply electricity from a 149 MW, simple-cycle gas turbine generation facility to be constructed near Albuquerque, N.M.

Siemens to supply 108 MW of wind power to UK offshore project
Siemens will supply 30 wind power systems with a combined capacity of 108 megawatts (MW) for the Gunfleet Sands project off the east coast of England.
