Calpine unit inks $377 million power plant finance deal
Calpine Corporation said its Otay Mesa Energy Center LLC (OMEC) unit obtained a $377 million credit facility to finance construction of a 596 MW combined-cycle power plant near San Diego.

AEP awards contract for 600 MW Turk Station
American Electric Power's Southwestern Electric Power Co. (SWEPCO) has awarded The Shaw Group Inc. a $700 million engineering, procurement and construction contract to build the $1.3 billion John W. Turk, Jr. Power Plant, a 600 MW coal-fueled station at Fulton, Ark.

Suzlon announces 400 MW deal
Suzlon Wind Energy Corporation has signed a contract for a total of 400 MW of wind turbine capacity with PPM Energy of Portland, Oregon, one of the largest wind power developers in North America.
