Siemens to supply CHP plant to Belarus
Siemens Power Generation (PG) is to supply a gas-fired, 7.5 MW combined heat and power (CHP) Plant to Belarus.

Wisconsin Power and Light Co. to build $180 million wind farm
Wisconsin Power and Light Co. (WPL) received unanimous approval from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSCW) to build Alliant Energy's first owned wind farm, Cedar Ridge Wind Farm.

A South Korean engineering firm will build the world's largest solar power station in the south-west of the country using German technology, said Hamburg-based SunTechnics in a statement.

Southern Co. to sell interest in nuke project
Southern Co. said it has decided not to partner with Duke Energy Corp. on the proposed Lee Nuclear Plant near Cherokee, S.C. Duke plans to buy Southern's 500 MW share of the 2,200 MW plant. Duke's board of directors must approve the plan.

CMS backs out of Ill. power plant deal
According to the Associated Press, CMS Energy Corp. has bowed out as a partner with Peabody Energy in developing and running a planned $2.5-billion, coal-fired power plant in southern Illinois, saying it could not find enough customers to justify its investment.
