€600m electricity link between the Netherlands and UK
National Grid and TenneT Holding has announced plans to construct a new 260km, 1000 MW electricity interconnector - 'BritNed' - between the Netherlands and the UK.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Samuel W. Bodman announced that the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and senior energy officials from some of the world's leading economies issued a joint statement in support of the Global Nuclear Energy Partnership (GNEP) and nuclear energy cooperation.

UK receives proposals for three supercritical units

Finnish utility Fortum has outlined plans to build a €220m ($299m) combined heat and power production plant adjacent to the existing Suomenoja power plant in Espoo, Finland.
