Wind industry expects 160 GW to be installed by 2010
Wind energy continued its dynamic growth worldwide in the year 2006, according to figures released today by the World Wind Energy Association. 14 900 MW were added in the past year making a global installed capacity of 73 904 MW by the end of December 2006.

Azerbaijan considers Russian energy grid's cooperation offer
The Azerbaijani government is considering seriously RAO UES [Unified Energy System of Russia] proposals concerning cooperation in the electric power industry.

China's electricity output exceeded consumption by 10 bn kwh in 2006
China's electricity output rose by 13 per cent to reach 2.83 trillion kWh last year, exceeding consumption by 10 bn kWh, according to the State Electricity Regulatory Commission.
