Australia plans to store carbon in underground reservoir
Australian scientists are pushing ahead with plans to store thousands of tonnes of carbon dioxide in an underground reservoir.

AEP shops for wind capacity
American Electric Power said it wants to buy up to 260 MW of wind power in West Virginia or Virginia for its Appalachian Power unit. The company also wants to add 100 MW of wind-generated electricity for its Indiana Michigan Power subsidiary.

EPA sets February '08 date for air cleanup plans
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency finalized rules directing 20 states to reduce levels of tiny particles produced by power plants, cars and other sources. Affected states must give EPA their cleanup plans by February 2008, and designated areas must lower particulate pollution by 2010, the rules said.
