E.ON to purchase Iberian wind assets from Dong Energy
E.ON of Germany agreed on its second acquisition in Spain on Tuesday, four months after being outmanoeuvred in the €43bn ($59bn) bid battle for Endesa, the country's biggest electricity group.

Dominion to sell combined-cycle project
Dominion said it will sell its Dresden Energy electric generation facility to AEP Generating Co. for $85 million, or $147/kW. The sale is expected to close in the third quarter of 2007.

Bolivia issues threat to Iberdrola, Red Electrica
Bolivia has sent a veiled threat to international electricity companies in the country, including Red Electrica de Espana (REE) and Iberdrola, by announcing plans to boost operations at national power company Ende, El Economista said.

Caithness and ArcLight announce geothermal, wind and solar power agreement
Caithness Energy LLC and ArcLight Capital Partners LLC said that they have reached an agreement whereby an affiliate of ArcLight will acquire interests in 18 geothermal, wind and solar renewable power generation projects with an installed capacity of 824 MW from Caithness through a series of transactions.

RAO UES to build new unit at Moscow power plant
Russian power firm RAO UES is to build a new 400 MW unit at the Shaturskaya thermal power plant in Moscow, which is already the largest in the area, with a capacity of 1100 MW.

TVA Board has approved a recommendation to complete the second unit at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant in Spring City, Tenn.

UK's National Grid sells Basslink to CitySpring for $1 bn
UK transmission system operator National Grid said it had signed an agreement to sell its Basslink electricity interconnector in Australia to CitySpring Infrastructure Management for A$1.175 bn ($1.01 bn).

Southwest Power Partners wins SCR project
City Utilities of Springfield has selected Southwest Power Partners to build the Unit 1 Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) Retrofit project at Springfield's 200 MW Southwest Power Plant.

United Solar Ovonic signs agreement for $108 Million of PV products
United Solar Ovonic LLC said that it has signed a three-year distributor agreement with Advanced Green Technologies Inc. for $108 Million of Photovoltaic (PV) products.
