Metso to automate the world's largest CFB boiler in Poland
Metso Automation has been awarded the contract to deliver an automation system to the new 460 MWe PKE S.A Lagisza power plant in southern Poland. Poludniowy Koncern Energetyczny SA's (PKE) plant will be hard coal fired being also able to utilize biofuel up to 10 per cent of the fuel load.

TEi awarded contracts for STP nuclear plant
Thermal Engineering International, the Californian-based subsidiary of Babcock Power, has been awarded two major contracts for the South Texas Project Electric Generating Station near Bay City, Texas.

E.ON plans 1100 MW Dutch power plant

Korea's Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction announced today that it had received an order worth 80bn won ($82.3m) to supply four steam generators for a nuclear reactor to Westinghouse Electric Co. of the US.

Fluor to begin construction of power plant in Nevada
Fluor Corporation announced Wednesday that it will begin construction of a 200 MW, coal-fired power plant in Nevada for Newmont Mining Corporation. Value to Fluor for this work is $400m.

Vestas wins Spanish order for 2 MW wind turbines
Vestas has received an order from Spanish wind farm developer Agrupación Eólica companies for 45 units of the V90-2 MW turbine. The order includes supply, installation, commissioning and VestasOnline remote monitoring systems for five different projects in Spain and France.

Small-scale hydro to grow in India
The private sector arm of the World Bank has agreed to finance several small-scale hydropower projects in India in what will be its first investment in such projects within the Asian country.
