Hitachi, GE to build NRG nuclear facilities
Hitachi Ltd. reported to Reuters that NRG Energy Inc. will soon pick Hitachi and General Electric Co. to build its new nuclear projects for $5.2 billion. This would be Hitachi's debut in a major overseas nuclear power facility.

Alstom has won a contract by TRUenergy Ltd, subsidiary of CLP, to supply a turnkey 400 MW gas fired combined cycle power plant in Australia and a 12-year long-term service agreement for the gas turbine equipment. The two contracts are worth approximately €250m ($314m).

Alstom has won a contract worth more than €400m ($505m) to build a turnkey 885 MW GT26-based combined-cycle power plant for UK utility Centrica at Langage, Devon, in the South West of England.

Centrica to develop UK's first major power station for five years
UK utility Centrica today announced it is investing £400m ($739m) to develop the first major power station to start construction in the UK for nearly five years. Commercial operations at the 885 MW gas fired plant in Langage, Devon, are due to start during winter 2008/2009.
