Ofgem facilitates smart meters in UK
UK energy regulator Ofgem said Friday it would be taking steps to break down barriers to the introduction of smart meters in the UK. It plans an industry-wide programme to encourage the introduction of smart meters that could put an end to estimated bills and the need for meter readers to call as well as cutting household energy consumption.
