Aquila buys Calpine's natural gas power plant
Aquila, Inc. agreed to purchase a 580-MW, natural gas-fired power plant in Missouri, US, from Calpine Corp. for $158.5 million.

Calpine receives court approval to sell Russell City Energy Center
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York approved the sale of a 35-percent equity interest in Calpine Corp.'s Russell City Energy Center to GE Energy Financial Services.

Peoples Energy to sell plants

DirectView, Inc. announced its execution of an agreement with GS Energy Corp. to acquire GS Carbon Trading, Inc., an emissions trading company.

Alliant Energy Corp. has commenced a process to sell its interest in Alliant Energy New Zealand Limited (AENZ) with interest in two publicly traded New Zealand companies.

Southern Company acquires two Progress Energy facilities
Southern Company has closed on the purchase of the Rowan County Energy Complex from Progress Energy. Southern also acquired Progress Energy's DeSoto County Energy Complex earlier this year.

AEP to sell Plaquemine cogeneration facility to Dow Chemical
American Electric Power has reached an agreement to sell its Plaquemine Cogeneration Facility in Plaquemine, Louisiana, US, to The Dow Chemical Co. for $64 million.
