SDG&E to bring more wind power to San Diego
San Diego Gas & Electric announced that the California Public Utilities Commission has approved its request to purchase 205.5 MW of electricity from enXco, a wind energy firm.

The same day that its former top executives were found guilty of lying about company finances to investors, Enron Corp. announced that Ashmore Energy International Limited has agreed to acquire Prisma Energy International Inc.

Hydro-Québec unloads Peruvian assets
Hydro-Québec International Inc., said Wednesday it had reached an agreement to sell its 57 per cent interest in Consorcio TransMantaro S.A. for $67m to a consortium formed by Colombian companies Interconexión Electrica S.A. E.S.P (60 per cent) and Empresa de Energia de Bogota S.A. E.S.P. (40 per cent).

Spanish solar roofing tie-up
Solar Integrated Technologies, a provider of non-residential building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) roofing systems, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Master Renovables, an engineering company specializing in the solar energy sector, for sales of Solar Integrated's roofing systems in Spain.

EDF unit signs for 208 MW of REpower turbines
REpower Systems has enlarged its framework agreement with the French EDF Energies Nouvelles, a subsidiary of Europe's largest energy supplier EDF and now plans to supply up to 140 wind energy turbines of the 2 MW class to before the end of 2008.

GE license uranium enrichment technology to Silex in Australia
GE Energy's nuclear business has signed an exclusive agreement with Silex Systems Limited, an Australia-based technology innovator, to license the technology and develop the company's next generation low enriched uranium manufacturing process in the United States.

The German cartel authorities have approved Austrian Energy & Environment's (AE&E) takeover of the industrial boilers and plant division from Alstom in Germany and the Czech Republic without conditions or limitations.

Engineering IT solutions company Aveva has announced plans to merge its Korean and Japanese based operations to establish an Aveva Korea Japan Division.

AES adds to Dominican Republic interest
The AES Corporation announced Thursday that it has restructured its investment in a 432 MW power plant in the Dominican Republic by acquiring a 25 per cent interest in the facility from El Paso Corporation for approximately $25m.

GE Energy Financial Services is to acquire a 40 per cent interest in Ireland's newest and most efficient natural gas fired power plant.
