New grid admission system in Moscow
Moscow power company AO Mosenergo's customers will now have to sign an agreement and pay for access to the electric grids after the company implemented its own admission system.

E.ON respond to Fortum move
German utility E.ON responded Monday to the offer made under a call option by Nordic power company Fortum Power and Heat Oy (Fortum) for a 34.2 per cent stake in E.ON Finland. E.ON said that Fortum might not be able to meet the terms of the shareholders agreement, which E.ON and present shareholder, the City of Espoo, entered into in September 2001.

The utility and industrial market for protective relays grew in 2004 to exceed $1.2bn, according to a global survey of protective relay usage patterns in the world's electric power business.
