California Regulators Approve Six New Edison Contracts for Renewable Power
The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) yesterday approved six new long-term contracts between Southern California Edison (SCE) and renewable energy projects that will use wind, biomass, and geothermal energy to generate electricity.

Blair says he'll support more nuclear power
British Prime Minister Tony Blair has indicated he might authorize the building of a new generation of nuclear reactors. Asked at a public forum about Scotland's executive plan to block any new nuclear plants in that country, Blair said it would be irresponsible to rule out additional nuclear units.

TXU Energy's chairman and CEO resigns
TXU Energy, a subsidiary of TXU Corp. announced yesterday that Paul O'Malley, chairman and chief executive of TXU Energy, has resigned effective in mid-July. A replacement will be announced by August, according to the company.
