Babcock & Wilcox agrees license for EU scrubber sales
Babcock & Wilcox (B&W) has signed a ten-year Wet Flue Gas Desulphurization (WFGD or scrubber) license agreement with Babcock Borsig Service (BBS) of Oberhausen, Germany. The license allows BBS to sublicense B&W's WFGD technology to its wholly owned subsidiary, Babcock Noell Nuclear of Wurzburg, Germany, and to supply and service B&W's WFGD technology for large electric power plants in the European Union (EU), Russia and Turkey.

Endesa to bid for Polish power producer
Spanish power group Endesa plans to launch a binding offer on Friday for Polish electricity utility Elektrowni Kozienice, in a deal valued at around €600m ($734m), a spokeswoman said.
