VRB Power signs distribution deals
VRB Power Systems announced Monday the addition of two distribution partners for electricity storage products. The new partners are Wireless Energy Chile and Eurel Inzeniring of Slovenia.

EcoSecurities sells interest in CDM project
EcoSecurities Group, a developer and trader of carbon credits from Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, announced today it has concluded the sale of its Brazilian subsidiary's 50 per cent interest in the NovaGerar landfill gas project, the first project to be registered under the Kyoto Protocol's Clean Development Mechanism (CDM).

Tulsa-based Oneok gets out of power-generation business
Tulsa-based energy company said Friday it had signed an agreement to sell its Spring Creek power plant in southwest Logan County to Topeka-based Westar Energy Inc. for $53m. Westar will purchase the 300 MW gas-fired merchant power plant that was built in 2001 to supply electrical power during peak periods using gas-powered turbine generators.

Austrian Energy & Environment is to acquire significant parts of the Industrial Plants and Boilers division Alstom had put up for sale in response to an EU directive.

Westar Energy has announced it has signed an agreement to purchase a 300 MW gas fired power plant from ONEOK, Inc. for $53m.

Spanish power company Endesa has launched the world's first private initiative to make large-scale purchases of emission rights, which will see it act as a broker for those wishing to buy CO2 credits.
