Calpine Corporation, one of North America's leading power companies, has been selected to help meet future energy needs on Long Island under a comprehensive energy resource plan announced yesterday by the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).

Hydrogenics Corporation a designer and manufacturer of hydrogen and fuel cell systems, has been contracted by Itochu Corporation of Tokyo, Japan, to provide a 10 kw HyPM fuel cell power module for a demonstration project in Mie Prefecture, Japan.

ICA Fluor to build 1180 MW power plant for Iberdrola
ICA Fluor, the industrial engineering company jointly owned by Fluor Corporation and Empresas ICA Sociedad Controladora announced Monday the signing of a contract for the construction of a combined-cycle power plant in Altamira, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Iberdrola EnergĂ­a S.A., a subsidiary of Spain's Grupo Iberdrola, awarded the contract.
