Chinese group to build air-cooled reactor power plant
China Huaneng Group, China Nuclear Industrial Group and Qinghua University recently signed an agreement on jointly investing to build a high-temperature air-cooled reactor power plant.

The Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank) approved Thursday a $53.3m loan guarantee to support the export by GE Packaged Power, Inc., Houston, Tex., and other U.S. suppliers of equipment and services to expand the Bis Enerji Elektrik Uretimi A.S. (Bis Enerji) power plant in Bursa, Turkey.

China's Huadian Group has established an agreement with the government of Yunnan Province in southwest China to develop power resources in the province.

Visiting Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab and Economic Development (KFAED) Bader al-Hemaidhi signed Sunday with the Egyptian Electricity Minister Hasan Yunis an agreement to extend a KD 26m ($85m) loan to Egypt.

ScottishPower today announced that its US competitive subsidiary, PPM Energy (PPM), plans to build a new 150 MW windfarm in Kansas, and has signed a 20-year contract for the output with a regional utility.

Ormat wins $16.9m remote power unit order from Russia
Ormat Technologies, Inc. announced Thursday that it had received a purchase order valued at approximately $16.9m to supply 102 remote power units for Communications and Cathodic Protection along a pipeline on the Sakhalin Island in the Russian Federation.
