Russia plans six nuclear units by 2010
Russia is planning to launch six atomic power generation units with a total capacity of 5800 MW by 2010, according to a report by Russian news agency ITAR-TASS.

Landfill methane to generate electricity
Alza Corp., and the Californian city of Mountain View have announced a partnership to convert landfill methane gas into electricity. The landfill gas cogeneration project, which will be funded by Alza, will establish a gas pipeline from a closed city landfill to nearby company facilities.
