MDU Resources Group, Inc.'s subsidiary, Centennial Energy Resources International Inc, acquired a 49.9 percent ownership interest in Carib Power Management LLC.

Power Measurement acquires ABB's retail energy software business
Power Measurement, a global provider of enterprise energy management systems, today announced it has acquired ABB's Retail Energy business, formerly Energy Interactive Inc. in Oakland, California.

Aquila sells 12 Power Plants to ArcLight for $300.9m
US power group Aquila, Inc. said Friday is had entered into a definitive agreement to sell its interests in 12 power plants to Teton Power Funding, LLC, an affiliate of ArcLight Capital Partners, LLC, for $300.9m.

PSEG pulls the plug on Edersa
US power company PSEG has reached an agreement to sell its last remaining stake in an Argentine company, said spokesperson Paul Rosengren speaking to Business News Americas. PSEG's Chilean subsidiary distributor Saesa has an agreement to sell its 50 per cent stake in Argentina's Rio Negro province distributor Edersa to the Camuzzi group, Rosengren said.

Profits rise at E.ON
E.ON, Germany's largest utilities group, recorded a 67 per cent increase in net profits to around €4.6bn ($5.6bn) last year and will increase its dividend by 14 per cent to €2 per share for 2003. The company is now the world's largest privately owned energy group.

Wade Malcolm named president and CEO of EPRI Worldwide
Wade Malcolm has been appointed president and chief executive officer of EPRI Worldwide Holdings Inc., (EPRIww), a wholly owned subsidiary of the Electric Power Research Institute.

International Power takes stakes in E.ON power plants
UK utility International Power said it had bought stakes in two foreign power plants owned by E.ON AG unit Powergen for £29.6m ($54.5m), including the assumption of £8.6m of debt.

UAE to add IWPP in Fujairah
The Union Water & Electricity Company (UWEC), a UAE utility company, has started making preparations for converting its power generation and water desalination and transmission project at Qidfa in Fujairah into an independent water and power project (IWPP).

AEP sells China power plant ownership interest
American Electric Power (AEP) has completed the sale of its 70 percent interest in Nanyang General Light Electric Company Limited, which owns and operates a power plant in China.
