Entergy-Koch consider strategic alternatives for partnership
Entergy Corporation and Koch Industries, Inc. confirmed Tuesday that they are conducting a broad review of strategic alternatives for enhancing the value of Entergy-Koch, LP and its subsidiaries. As part of this review, the owners have discussed the potential sale of the venture's energy trading operations in the United States and the United Kingdom to various third parties.

BTU Power completes Tunisian acquisition
BTU Power Company has completed its acquisition from PSEG Global, a subsidiary of Public Service Enterprise Group, of a 60 per cent equity interest in Carthage Power Company ("CPC"), the Tunisian special purpose company which owns and operates a 471 MW gas-fired power generation facility in Radès, Tunisia.

Centrica boosts generation capacity with Killingholme acquisition
UK utility Centrica plc today announced it has reached agreement with Killingholme Power Limited to acquire the 652MW Killingholme CCGT power station in North Lincolnshire. The gas fired power station will be acquired on a debt free basis for a cash payment of £142m ($261m), representing a purchase price of £218/kW.

Talks commence over Dabhol foreign debt
Indian lenders to the Dabhol power project in Maharashtra state are to begin two days of talks with foreign lenders to determine terms to buy out their debt exposure.

Damhead Creek sold to Scottish Power
Damhead Energy Limited has announced the sale of Damhead Creek Limited whose principal asset is the 792 MW CCGT power station in Rochester, Kent to Scottish Power for approximately £317m ($684m) in cash.

GE Energy to acquire BHA Group Holdings
GE Energy has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BHA Group Holdings, Inc., a leading provider of air quality control products and services, in an all cash transaction for $38 per share or approximately $260m. Upon consummation of the transaction, BHA will become a wholly owned subsidiary of GE.

Alstom to raise €1.8-2.5bn of equity
Alstom said it will raise €1.8-2.5bn of new equity as part of the rescue deal agreed by the EU Commission and the French government, which will see the French state take a direct stake in the company.

Foreign banks to back new Indonesian coal fired plant
A consortium of foreign banks has agreed to finance the construction of a 200 MW coal-fired power plant in Banjarsari, South Sumatra.

Aveva and Leica announce collaborative alliance
Engineering IT group Aveva announced Thursday an alliance with Leica Geosystems HDS, Inc. (formerly Cyra), the 3D laser scanning products division of Leica Geosystems AG.

Dynegy announces agreement with Gregory Power Partners
Dynegy Inc. announced Wednesday that it has reached an agreement with Gregory Power Partners, L.P. to extend an existing energy management services contract through December 2006.
