Areva T&D refocuses by selling Australasian assets
Areva T&D is to sell its New Zealand and Australian electrical and telecommunication services business to Transfield Services for A$193m ($148m), to concentrate on its core products and services.

Gamesa agrees sale of 608 MW wind parks
Spanish wind power company Gamesa said Tuesday it has agreed to sell six Spanish wind parks with a total capacity of 158 MW in Spain in a deal worth more than €200m ($267m).

Novera and Macquarie Bank establish renewable energy JV
Australian companies Novera Energy and Macquarie Bank announced today that they have established Novera Macquarie Renewable Energy Limited (NMRE), a 50:50 joint venture company whose purpose is to acquire and operate renewable energy assets, initially in the United Kingdom.

International Power completes Edison asset acquisition
International Power said today it had completed the acquisition of the international generation portfolio of Edison Mission Energy (the "EME Portfolio"), in a 70:30 partnership with Mitsui & Co., Ltd of Japan, for a consideration of $2.0bn.

E.ON to invest €18.7bn over next three years
German utility E.ON Group plans to invest a total of approximately €18.7bn ($24.8bn) over the next three years. The E.ON Supervisory Board approved the 2005-2007 investment plan at its meeting yesterday.

NZ Vector acquires NGC stake
New Zealand utility Vector now owns two-thirds of NGC Holdings after completing a NZ$851m($612m) deal with former majority shareholder Australian Gas Light. Vector paid a net NZ$2.91 a share to acquire the stake.

Washington agrees DTE Energy alliance
Washington Group International announced Monday that it signed a contract with DTE Energy formalizing an engineering, procurement, and construction alliance between the two companies.

Danish power utility Elsam and the state oil and gas group Dong have agreed terms for a merger, it was announced Friday.

E.ON renews credit facility
E.ON AG has agreed a €10bn ($13.25bn) syndicated credit facility with an international group of banks. The successful transaction was oversubscribed by more than 50 per cent.

Duke looks long-term as spot market falters
