Con Edison to buy power from new Queens plant
Consolidated Edison Co. of New York Inc. said Monday it awarded a ten-year contract to buy 500 MW of electricity from a new power plant to be built in the borough of Queens by Astoria Energy LLC.

BGE wins bid for Fort Meade utility distribution privatization
Baltimore Gas and Electric (BGE) has been awarded a 50-year contract for privatization of the natural gas and electric distribution systems at the United States Army's Fort George G. Meade facility in Anne Arundel County, MD. The Army selected BGE as the successful bidder in a competitive procurement process, which began in 1999.

Israel's Ormat in US deals
Ormat Industries, the supplier of cogeneration and distributed power products or services in Israel, said on Sunday it received approvals to build two power stations and supply electricity in the United States as well as signing a deal to build a station and supply power in Guatemala.
