Broward County's two waste-to-energy plants receive OSHA's top safety award
The federal government has recognized two Broward County, Fla., waste-to-energy plants owned and operated by Wheelabrator Technologies Inc. as among the safest industrial plants in the United States.

GE's H System completes successful testing at Baglan Bay
Extensive testing of GE 's next-generation gas turbine technology, the H System, has been successfully completed at the Baglan Bay Power Station near Cardiff, South Wales in the U.K., GE reported today at the ASME/IGTI Turbo Expo. Following a planned outage to change out the instrumented components, the system will be restarted for a commercial demonstration period beginning in September.

Denmark has seen a seven per cent rise in sales of wind turbines in 2002. Sales rose to 22bn kroner ($3.5bn)), of which 88 per cent was attributed to exports, the Danish association of turbine makers said.
