European mid-market power customers vunerable says report
New research from independent market analyst, Datamonitor has found that incumbent European electricity suppliers are at risk of losing up to 57 per cent of their mid-market revenues' total value. Despite this imminent threat, only a handful of suppliers are likely to have the required strategies in place by January 2004, when the European electricity mid-market opens to competition.

Egypt, Jordan natural gas pipeline inaugurated
The first section of a gas pipeline that will eventually enable Egypt to export gas into Europe was inaugurated Sunday. The sub-sea pipeline from Egypt to Jordan will supply 2.7bn cubic metres of natural gas a year.

Report accuses Australian generators of market manipulation
Australia's electricity generators are earning nearly 30 per cent of their revenue from artificially manipulating the wholesale market, according to research due for release today. The analysis comes as state governments are trying to stamp out "gaming" of the electricity market that artificially inflates prices.
