Oglethorpe Power receives loan guarantees for new plants in Talbot and Heard counties
The Rural Utilities Service (RUS) has approved loan guarantees totaling about $589 million for Oglethorpe Power Corporation's new generating facilities in Talbot and Heard counties.

TransAlta decommissions Pacific Northwest plant
TransAlta Corp. is removing from service the 154-megawatt Pierce Power Station located in Frederickson, Washington, as intended when commissioned in August 2001.
