SunPower to construct two solar PV projects

10 July 2008 -- SunPower Corp. said that it was selected by Florida Power & Light Co. (FPL) to build a 25 MW power plant in DeSoto County, Fla. and a 10 MW project at the Kennedy Space Center.

SunPower said it will design and build the facilities and FPL will own, operate and maintain the systems. The DeSoto plant is scheduled to be completed in 2009. The plant at the Kennedy Space Center is slated to be completed in 2010. Construction is contingent on approval of the Florida Public Service Commission.
