Voith Siemens Hydro to supply hydro for Ohio River Dams

23 June 2008 -- Voith Siemens Hydro said it signed a contract with American Municipal Power-Ohio (AMP) for the supply of mechanical, electrical, automation and balance of plant equipment on a hydroelectric project said to total more than 208 MW. The order value is in excess of $300 million.

The three run-of-the-river hydroelectric plants will be located at existing dams on the Ohio River. When complete, the eight bulb machines will have an expected capacity of 208 MW.

The new generation facilities are planned to go on-line in 2012.
