9 June 2008 - E.ON wants to build two new nuclear reactors in the United Kingdom, reports the Independent.
The German power giant, which has remained on the sidelines of the bidding for British Energy, has signalled its interest in participating in the industry through the construction of new plants.
It announced that it had joined the Nuclear Industry Association, the trade body, just days after it issued its Energy Manifesto calling on Government and industry to engage in a more "open and honest" debate about the UK's energy and climate change challenges.
