Vestas receives 500 MW wind order

3 June 2008 -- Vestas said it received an order from Alliant Energy Corp. for 303 wind turbines with a total installed capacity of 500 MW. The turbines will be delivered to wind power projects in Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota.

The approximately $817 million order follows a recent contract between Alliant and Vestas for 41 Vestas wind turbines, which supply 68 MW to Alliant's Cedar Ridge Wind Farm in Wisconsin.

Delivery and commissioning of the turbines is scheduled to begin in 2009 and continue in 2010 and 2011.
