SCE, eSolar ink 245 MW solar deal

3 June 2008 -- eSolar said it signed a power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison (SCE) to build a total of 245 MW of concentrating solar plants in Southern California.

The decision follows eSolar's $130 million utility-scale funding round in April, led by Idealab, Google.org, and Oak Investment Partners.

The plants are expected to begin production in 2011.
