Iberinco to upgrade power grid in Mexican states

21 May 2008 - Spanish engineering and construction firm Iberdrola Ingenieria y Construccion has won a contract in Mexico, from the country's Federal Electricity Commission, to strengthen the electricity infrastructure of the Veracruz and Oaxaca states, for a total of $11.4m.

Iberdrola Ingenieria y Construccion (Iberinco) noted that the project will be carried out within a one-year period.

The contract includes the construction of a main substation and the addition of seven other 115 kW substation installations with an installed power rating of 20 MVA. Iberinco will also put into service a transmission line of 3.6km length and 115 kW capacity.
