8 May 2008 -- Black & Veatch said it will provide Eskom with project management and engineering services for a 4,800 MW power generation facility being constructed in South Africa. Black and Veatch said it plans to help Eskom, South Africa's state-owned electric utility, with engineering services and supervising construction of six 800 MW units that make up Project Bravo, a 4,800 MW supercritical coal-fired facility about 120 miles east of Johannesburg. The unit will include flue gas desulphurization for emissions control. Black and Veatch intends to complete Project Bravo in stages with the first unit coming online in 2012 and the final unit in 2015. Project Bravo work for Eskom is now underway.
