Poland's Enea makes bid for 2400 MW PAK power plant

7 May 2008 - Polish state-owned utility Enea has submitted an offer to buy a 45.93 per cent stake in the 2388 MW ZE PAK power plant, reports Platts.

Enea wants to buy private company Elektrim's stake in Zespolu Elektrowni
Patnow-Adamow-Konin (ZE PAK). "We have placed our offer for the purchase of ZE
PAK's shares in the hands of Elektrim," Enea spokesman Pawel Oboda told
Platts. Oboda said the company would not be releasing any details of the offer.

In February the Treasury Ministry, which owns 50 per cent of ZE PAK, gave Enea the green light to pursue a possible takeover of the power producer. ZE PAK has a generating capacity of 2388 MW and produces around 12 per cent of the country's electricity.
