30 April 2008 - Areva's Transmission and Distribution division has been awarded a €32m ($49.7m) contract with NAFTEC, a subsidiary of Sonatrach, for its oil refinery located in Skikda (North-East of Algeria).

Areva will provide a turnkey installation composed of gas-insulated switchgear and power transformers. This equipment will ensure a power supply to the refinery, the biggest in Africa, and optimize its production capacity.
