Babcock Power and ThermoEnergy develop carbon capture plant

Babcock Power Inc. and ThermoEnergy Corp. signed a memorandum of understanding to jointly develop the zero air emission power plant design called ThermoEnergy Integrated Power System (TIPS).

TIPS is designed to convert coal, natural gas, oil and biomass into energy with near-zero air emissions and to capture and sequester CO2 for reuse in secondary and tertiary oil recovery.

Babcock and ThermoEnergy will begin work immediately to design, construct and operate a large-scale pilot plant at a host site.
