Endesa signs IUA agreement with European utilities

22 April 2008 - Spanish utility Endesa has signed the Innovation Utilities Alliance agreement with European utility majors EDF, EDP and RWE to develop energy efficiency initiatives and electricity networks of the future.

The agreement, promoted and co-ordinated by Endesa, was signed by the representatives of EDF, EDP Innovacao and RWE Energy.

To facilitate closer links and the open exchange of opinions, a round table was set up, at which, the objectives, scope and structure of the Innovation Utilities Alliance (IUA) were discussed.

The representatives of the utilities have analyzed the technological and innovation expectations presented by Endesa, contrasted them with their own business vision and have jointly identified lines of action.

Endesa has also presented its Innovation Circles program and invited the participants to join. As a result, the companies will work together to develop and launch R&D projects.
