28 March 2008 - Babcock and Wilcox Power Generation Group has signed a contract to license its Radiant boiler technology to India-based energy and environmental engineering company, Thermax.
Under the terms of the 15-year licensing agreement, Babcock and Wilcox Power Generation Group (B&W PGG) will allow Thermax to engineer, manufacture and sell B&W's Radiant sub-critical pressure boilers in India.
The boilers will be used to generate steam in thermal power plants, primarily owned by independent power producers. The units are reportedly designed to fire a variety of fossil fuels.
Brandon Bethards, B&W PGG's president and COO, said: "B&W PGG has extensive experience in designing, manufacturing, installing and servicing more than 700 Radiant boilers worldwide and we are pleased to have the opportunity to bring our leading technology to India through this agreement."
