Union Fenosa wins 50 MW hydroelectric contract in Costa Rica

20 March 2008 - Union Fenosa said it has won a contact from the Costa Rican Electricity Institute (ICE) for a hydroelectric plant with potential capacity of 50 MW.

Thomson Financial reports that Union Fenosa said the contract - to build, operate and then transfer - is for 20 years, with three years for the plant's construction.

Fenosa did not provide financial details, but said the contract is similar to another in the centre of the country in which it is investing €80m ($125m).
