19 March 2008 - Nexans has won a deal worth €150m ($237m) from Finland's and Sweden's national grid operators for a subsea cable between the two countries, Finnish grid said, reports Reuters.

The link is set to boost transmission capacity between Finland and Sweden by 800 MW, or about 40 per cent, and is set to go live in late 2011, Fingrid said in a statement.

The new connection is 270 km (168 miles) long, with the sea cable being about 200km.
