AREVA awarded €150m substation contract by DEWA

14 March 2008 - AREVA strengthened its partnership with DEWA (Dubai Electricity and Water Authority) by signing a €150m deal for the delivery of two high-voltage (400 kV) substations in Dubai.

AREVA's substations will help DEWA meet the Emirate's increasing demand for electricity because of its rapid urban expansion.

The contract was awarded in partnership with Hyundai Heavy Industries that will supply four power transformers.

AREVA has a strong project delivery track record and leadership position on the Middle East's high-voltage market.

This success follows a €500m contract awarded to AREVA in January by Qatari utility, Kahramaa, as part of its grid expansion programme.
