12 March 2008 - French energy group Suez has agreed to sell 635 MW of electricity generating capacity owned by its Belgian subsidiary Electrabel to Belgian utility SPE, the Belgian prime minister's office told Agence-France Presse.

A spokesperson for Suez was not immediately available to comment.

SPE is partly owned by Gaz de France, which has been ordered by European authorities to divest its 25 per cent stake as a condition of GDF's merger with Suez.
