21 February 2008 - Spanish power company Iberdrola said on Wednesday it would not welcome rumoured suitor French power firm EDF as a shareholder, according to Reuters.

"It has been made clear in the last few days that EDF is not welcome from a political point of view nor from a social point of view, nor from a union ... or shareholder point of view," Chairman Ignacio Sanchez Galan told reporters in a press conference.
