Vestas wins US wind turbine contract

7 November 2007 -- Vestas received a 201 MW order for 67 units of the V90-3.0MW wind turbine. The turbines will be installed at Horizon Wind Energy's Meridian Way wind farm in north-central Kansas.

Meridian Way is developed, constructed, owned and operated by Horizon Wind Energy. Horizon is a unit of Energias de Portugal, a Portuguese utility.

The order includes supply and commissioning of the turbines and a five-year service and maintenance agreement. Delivery of the 67 wind turbines will begin in mid-year 2008 and commissioning is expected to be completed in 2008.
